Today I bought Suzy Jo donuts, the best donuts in the known universe and the closest four parallel dimensions, in order to celebrate all my co-workers who actually came to work instead of taking a four-day weekend. On the way, my turn signal burn out. I was irritated at having another thing to do today before an increasingly busy weekend. I took the car to Phoenixville Tire & Service and asked them to replace the bulb and check a slow leak in the tire and they discovered a nail! So donuts saved me from getting a flat on Labor Day weekend.

Eat It
From Yeoman Farmer, comes this great article on urban farming. I suppose that growing a significant portion of my own food is a dream that I will never realize, but it would be awesome to provide for for myself and my family while working from home as a small business.
Small business, local food.

More is not More
Here is an interesting article on the current state of food in the U.S. I have only recently learned about the agri-business farming practices through the great book "The Omnivore's Dilemma." Boy, do I want to be more like the Yeoman Farmer. At least I'm selling the type of nutritional supplements which can help compensate for these issues.

Excellent Activism
I generally decry the activist, whiny culture which seems more and more common in America. However, I truly love excellent activism couched in wit and reason. With that, I give you:

In trying to live a natural life, I become more sympathetic to the way animals are treated. I hate being treated as a cog in a machine; it seems unpleasant to them too. Also, grass-fed beef is absolutely delicious.
